HOW IT WORKS
AND WHY IT'S SO IMPORTANT TO DOCUMENT YOUR DAYS

Ever wondered how a Documentary Family Session differs from a traditional family photography shoot?

MUMS ARE NATURALLY IN THE FRAME

When we think of traditional in-home photoshoots, you're usually encouraged to all be on the couch and "having a cuddle", pretending to be looking natural. With Documentary Family Sessions, you get to literally go about your day. This results in such beautiful, authentic connections that you'll never get when there's pressure to perform or act "natural". This helps Mum feel like she can be in the frame organically. It's so often the case that Mums are left out of albums.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN

Yep, you heard that right… no need to put on a show or make everything perfect. I’m here to capture your family just as you are. Whether you’re flipping pancakes, folding a mountain of laundry, chasing toddlers, wiping down the bench between snack requests, or just curled up on the couch with a cuppa — it’s all part of the story. I simply blend into the rhythm of your day and document the real, beautiful, messy magic that unfolds.

KIDS GET TO BE THEMSELVES

The beauty of this type of photography is that kids get to be kids. They don't need to stay clean, they don't need to have matching outfits, you don't need to be on a freezing, cold beach somewhere pretending to be having a good time. I come to you so there's no need to be get everyone out the door at certain time, stressing you'll be running late because we can't find the 5-year-olds' new shoes!! And we all know who will be the one carrying the load. I'll help you create an album of memorable and nostalgic images that you'll reminisce over time and time again!
